| Wording for your wedding invitations is one of the most important elements of your wedding, and, in fact, the stationery is the first thing your guests see or receive from you about your wedding, therefore, I have put together some wedding invitation wording samples to help YOU create the wedding of your dreams!
Traditional Wording
The wedding invitation wording sample to the right is quite traditional and is used when the parents are going to be paying for the wedding. The sample of this type of invitation is shown here. Also when using this type of wording you should have the RSVP cards returned to the parents.
Traditional wedding invitations wording can also be used when the parents are going to be paying for the wedding. This type of wedding invitation wording sample is shown here.

Informal Wedding Invitation Wording Samples

Contemporary wedding invitation wording samples
Wording, poems, verses or invitation etiquette for wedding invitations has become more and more difficult to decide how to phrase them. With the growing number of blended families, it is not always the mother and father of the bride paying for the wedding. Therefore, things have changed. For example if the bride and groom are paying for the wedding, but would like to acknowledge a parent or parents on the invitation the wording might start: “Jessica Harris and John Smythe and their parents Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Harris request the pleasure of your presence…” Several different wedding invitation wording samples are shown below to help you decide.
